Lisa Mandigo grew up in upstate New York in a large family. She learned
to cook from her loving Italian
neighbor who was a great inspiration to her. Standing on a kitchen chair,
she learned to make sauce from scratch at age 4 and loved every minute
of it. Every day was a new adventure in the kitchen and this is what
laid the foundation of Lisa's culinary career.
While attending college, Lisa took a part time job working in a Five-Star
Restaurant. It was then that she realized that her true passion was
for Food, Wine and the people who enjoyed them. Lisa then joined the
Marriot in Vail, Colorado. This position enabled her to work some of
world greatest Chefs and travel to several resort towns across the country,
working in every aspect of the Food and Beverage Industry.
Her extensive experience with the Marriot brought Lisa to San Diego
where she has made it her home since 1988. Initially in San Diego Lisa
focused her attention on the Wine Industry becoming a Wine Supervisor
for a large distributor advising over 100 of the top San Diego restaurants
on their wine lists and teaching wine seminars to the staff.
To broaden her career experience Lisa took a position at the Stadium
working the skyboxes at football games. This soon led to a new 6 year
career as Assistant Director of Catering. Next her love of travel and
desire to explore the new Asian-Rim Cuisine, took her to Hawaii where
she worked at Roy's, under Roy Yamaguchi. This experience infused her
cooking style with a Euro-Asian flair and founded her continuing passion
for the Sea.
Returning to San Diego, Lisa broadened her career abilities by working
for some of the top caterers in the area until she decided to start
her own catering business. It is her desire to create a whole new level
of service and quality, with a fresh new approach to catering.
